This sword does not have a scabbard and discounted price reflects that.

Also known as Binangon in the island of Iloilo, Philippines. The single edge blade has a curved edge and a clip point. Forged from 5160 carbon steel, the blade 16” long and ¼” thick near the base tapering to 1/8” thick an inch from the point. Traditional hardening of the edge is used using water as a quench.

Relatively long handle is 5-1/2” long with octagonal cross section and finger grooves. The brass ferrule is a solid piece. Molve hardwood is used on the handle. The sword / bolo has a nice balance and well made.

Basic design was copied from a very old piece from Kris Cutlery collection.
