ANKUN BARONG II

175.00 195.00

A shorter Barong blade is preferred by the Tausug warriors of Sulu in close combat distances. Its’ cutting ability is tremendous due to the wide blade. The leaf shape blade is 11” long, 2-5/8” wide and ¼” thick at the base. Forged 5160 carbon steel is used with a hardened edge.

Wood handle is 6-5/8” long and has a round cross section. The grip area is a brass over wood and is pinned. Back part curves down made of dark brown hardwood Tanguile with lighter streaks and depicts a very stylized head of a cockatoo bird.

Molave wood scabbard adds contrast to the sword. This is a well made sword with excellent balance. This is the second Ankun Barong Kris Cutlery has produced and is slightly larger than the previous one.
