Dadao II-folded steel #7645

130.00 165.00

This is a blemished item. The guard is slanted and not squared to the blade. The first photo will show that. Other photos are stock.

Dadao is known as a “Chinese Beheading Sword” and can easily be identified by the long handle with a ring at the end. Many variations exist.

This single edge Dadao is 14-7/8” long and has a diamond shape cross section where the middle of the blade is the thickest section. The blade at the guard junction is 1-1/2” wide, .33 inch thick and tapers to .20 inch near the tip. Resulting balance point is 2.75” – 3” from the guard. A black iron guard is used. Tip of the blade is sharp. The blade is made from 1060 and 9250 steels fused at very temperature producing lamination patterns. Check one of the photos below for illustration.

The long wood handle is 10-1/4” long and wrapped with brown poly-blend flat ribbon. At the end of the handle is an iron ring 2-3/8” in diameter and wrapped with brown cord.  The sword weighs 1.8 lbs.
