IFUGAO mother of pearl necklace
The necklace is called Palangapang by the Ifugao from the Cordilleras of Northern Luzon, Philippines. Seven plates of thick mother of pearls are attached to a woven rattan strips. The plates are 2-3/4” long, 2” wide (at the bottom) and 1/8” to 3/16” thick. Total width is 11-3/4" and 12-3/4" high. Worn by both the male warriors and females. 15-25 years old.
