This 3rd generation Pinuti was designed by Kris Cutlery from a museum specimen. The 18” single edge blade has a beveled top 14” long. The thick blade is 5/16” at the base and tapers toward the tip. 1060 steel is used with a hardened edge which some call selective tempering. Balance point is 4-3/4” from the guard. Sword weighs 1.75 lbs. without the scabbard.
In front of the handle is a blackened iron guard. The traditional style handle is Ebony wood 6” long with the grip section that is 4-1/8”. This grip area has a hexagonal cross section glued and pinned with brass for safety. Natural crème color wood is used as a scabbard.
This Visayan weapon style dates back in the 1800 or earlier. The design is excellent for cutting and thrusting. Reg. $125.
