One of the ancient swords of China is the Jian with double edge straight blade. This Jian has a 27” blade hand forged from 1060 high carbon steel. Blade finish is smooth with no grind lines visible. Near the guard, the blade is 2” wide and tapers to 1” wide near the tip. The blade is 5/16” thick near the guard and ¼” at the middle and tapers to slightly less than 3/16” an inch from the point. Base of the blade has a metal sleeve.

The long handle is 9-3/8” which includes the guard, grip and pommel. Nice hardwood grip has a metal ferrules on both ends and is 6-1/4”.
