WAKIZASHI–A BLADE
Called the short sword, the wakizashi is preferred
in close sword fights specially indoors. This
Wakizashi-A blade is 18 ½ " long and
¼ " thick measured from the shinogi
(center ridge) near the iron habaki. A hamon
(temper line) is visible and hardened to 60 HRC
hardness using water as quench. Some call this
differential tempering where the upper part of the
blade is softer than the edge.
The tang is 6¼ " long measured without the
habaki. A handle of measuring 5¾ " to
8 " can be used. $95
