Korean Sword II-P
Korean straight single edge blade
design can be traced
back to 4th-5th century and pre-dates the Katana. The
28.5 inch blade is slightly less than 5/16 inches thick
and tapers
towards the point and made from 1060 carbons steel. It
has a tempered edge just like a
Japanese katana. This hard edge is visible. The upper
part of the blade is softer and prevents the hard edge
from cracking in impact. At the base of the blade is
brass sleeve. A blackened iron Tsuba guard has four
lobes and brass spacer on both sides. Long 11 3/8 inch
handle is wrapped in brown poly-blend ribbon and has a
black zinc alloy metal ferrule and pommel.
The
handle is
attached to the blade' tang with a bamboo peg and for the
Korean Sword II P, it is glued as well. Black lacquered
wood scabbard has a metal sleeve at the opening and at
the bottom. Comes with a black sword bag. Wt. 2.2 lbs.
without the scabbard. (shp. wt. 5 lbs.) Reg. $275
SALE $95
*note - This is a Kris Cutlery design based on
available information regarding the ancient Korean Sword.
