GIM II
The Gim II is copy of a Chinese double edge
sword used during the reign of Emperor Qianlong
(1735-1795). The 29 or 32 inch long blade is 1 1/8 inch
wide near the
base. A 23 inch long groove is found on both sides
of the
blade to lighten it without sacrificing the integrity of
the blade. Unusual oval shape cross guard is made from
a solid blackened iron. The long 6 1/8 inches long handle
has a wood grip wrapped with black round cord. The
ferrule on the handle is also made of blackened iron
and an octagonal pommel bolted to the blade's tang.
Balance point of the sword is 2.0 inches from the
guard and
weighs 2.4 lbs. w/o the scabbard. The blade is
made of high carbon steel designated as 5160.
Please specify blade length: 29 or 32 inches.
