DAO IV Blade style from the Qinq Dynasty era has a straight single edge that curves up towards the point. The differentially tempered edge is hard and sharp. This well polished blade has a 7 inch groove on top near the guard on both sides. There is false edge on the top near the point measuring 17 inches long. Weighing at about 2.2 lbs., the DAO-IV is what some would call average--not light not heavy. Limited production. $274.95 Blade: 29 inch high carbon steel- 5160, 6mm thick near the guard and tapers to 4mm near the tip. Tempering: hardened edge to 60 HRC. Handle: 7 inches with hardwood grip of oval cross-section wrapped in black flat cotton cord, blackened steel nut secures the tang at the pommel. Fittings: blackend steel guard, ferrule and pommel. Scabbard: brown hardwood with blackened steel chape and hangers. Balance point: 7.5 inches from the handle. Weight: (w/o scabbard) 2.2 lbs.
