Kris Cutlery SHIRASAYA KATANA

255.00

Shirasaya Katana
The Shirasaya's long blade has beautiful folded steel forged from 1060 and 9250 carbon steels. The blade features  approximately 240 layers of steel which results in a very durable blade. The edge is compacted producing a very hard surface called hamon with a *66 HRC.

The handle has two bamboo pegs securing it to the blade tang which is 9” long. The handle and scabbard are a light colored hardwood with a semi-gloss clear lacquer finish for protection. Both the handle and scabbard have a black synthetic band at the openings to prevent wood from splitting at that area.
