BALLOCK DAGGER III-folded steel #5667
Also known as the "kidney dagger" due to the guard design. One of the most popular dagger styles used during the European Middle Ages. The single edge blade is 8-½” long with a hardened edge. At the base, the blade is quite thick measuring .35"/9mm and tapers to 1/8"/ 3mm an inch from the point.

To produce the folded steel blade, two types are used: 9250 and 1060 which are fused together at a very high temperature of 2300+ degrees Fahrenheit and folded repeatedly producing more than 100 layers which are visible. The blade is 15⁄16 " wide at the guard area and tapers to tip.

A flat brass piece is attached to front of the guard to help seal elements going inside the handle. Beautiful Macasser Ebony handle is 4 - ⅜ " long with a round cross section grip that flares towards the back. The handle is glued securely to the blades tang. The hardwood sheath has a a black lacquer finish with a band of thin cord wrap on top to strengthen the opening. .Reg. $105  On sale $55
