Kris cutlery has been in business for more than 23 years. The company started as Cecil Quirino Imports selling Philippine Butterfly Knives in April 1984. The name was eventually changed to Kris Cutlery as an attribute to the wavy blades of Southern Philippines and Indonesia - the Kris.

By November 1989, Kris Cutlery became a full time mail order company located in Pinole California. Designing swords based on traditional models was challenging from the start. In addition, the integrity and quality of the blade was the utmost importance.
