Kris cutlery has been in business since 1984. The company started as Cecil Quirino Imports selling Philippine Butterfly Knives. The name was eventually changed to Kris Cutlery as an attribute to the wavy blades of Southern Philippines and Indonesia - the Kris.

By November 1989, Kris Cutlery became a full time mail order company located in Pinole California. Product lines were increased starting from just one - the Barbarian Sword. Today, the swords are still made in the Philippines with additional models from China.
