TANKIL #2970
Headhunter's armlet called Tankil is made up of two boars tusks and a wooden figure. Woven vine is used to join the two tusks forming a circle. A seated wooden carved human figure is attached to the front part. Tufts of boar's hair are added to the back of the figurine. The armlet is placed above the elbow usually around the bicep area of the male warrior. Tankil is used during Kanao ceremonies and also as a gong handle in the early 1900. The armlet is used by the Ifugao, Bontac and Kankanay males of the Northern Province of Luzon, Philippines. Circa WWII and rare. (shp. wt. 2 lb.) Reg. $900 SALE $560
