KERIS #0006

560.00

The blade has 3 waves and pamor / lamination pattern is straight. It is an old blade 12-7/8” long. Ganja / guard is iras with pattern same as the blade and is not a common feature. Blade was etched with mineral arsenic and lime juice and turned black. Beautiful old handle is Yogya style with honey color patina. A gold colored mendak / ferrule compliments the handle. Both handle and ferrule are not glued and are removable. Traditionally Javanese keris handle and ferrule are never glued.

Gayaman style scabbard has a kayu pellet / speckled wood and is highly sought after. The gandar lower section of the scabbard has removable pendok / metal sleeve of brass. Blade fits loosely on the scabbard.

From Yogyakarta (Yogya) Java Indonesia, blade is 200+ years old, scabbard and handle40+ years old.
